Artist Statement
I create hand sewn soft sculpture from felt and drawings in graphite, both heavily influenced by all things “kawaii”, rainbow colours and cake. All works tend to take on a somewhat child-like and naive fantasy theme, as though they are from another world. Inspiration is also sought from Japanese street fashion and pop culture. Victorian fairy painter John Anster Fitzgerald, Sydney artist Bei Badgirl and Australian installation duo Pip and Pop also provide a large source of artist inspiration and reference.

Bio~
Currently: Art Student
Goal: Mad Scientist with Evil Minions
A lifelong fascination with fairy tales and sweet foods (like cake!) has lead and evolved into the subject matter that I use. Being an avid crafter and sewer also heavily influences my arts practice and has an extremely strong effect on the materials and mediums which I use. I am still developing and have a tendency to try to fit as much random stuff into a work as possible, generally all sorts of things encompassing all different styles. Mostly I just like making a creative mess.
